Project Engineer – Open Access & Rooftop Solar (Office & Site Execution)

Role Description

Responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of Open Access and Rooftop Solar projects from project award to commissioning. The role involves site execution, engineering coordination, vendor management, client interaction, statutory approvals, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute rooftop and open-access solar projects from engineering through commissioning.
• Review layouts, SLDs, BOQs, and construction drawings for project implementation.
• Conduct site surveys, feasibility assessments, and pre-construction planning activities.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, vendors, and site teams for smooth project execution.
• Supervise installation of modules, inverters, mounting structures, LT/HT systems, transformers, and associated electrical works.
• Monitor project schedules, material availability, and site progress to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, DISCOMs, and statutory authorities for project approvals and execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards during project execution.
• Support net metering, open-access connectivity, CEIG approvals, and synchronization activities.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and project documentation.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate project handover, punch-point closure, and final documentation submission.
• Maintain project records, material reconciliation, and as-built documentation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in Rooftop Solar and Open Access Solar project execution.
• Knowledge of Solar PV systems, HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, and switchgear.
• Understanding of net metering, open-access regulations, CEIG approvals, and DISCOM procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret SLDs, layouts, electrical drawings, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project reporting tools.
• Strong site management, contractor coordination, and client-facing skills.
• Good understanding of safety, quality, and construction management practices.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

• C&I rooftop solar projects.
• Open Access solar projects (MW-scale).
• Net metering and grid synchronization activities.
• HT/LT electrical installations and commissioning.
• Client, DISCOM, and EPC contractor coordination.
