Description:

Production Lead – Modular & Door Manufacturing

Location: Pune, Maharashtra Department: Operations Reports To: Operations Head / CEO Experience: 8–12 years Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Production Lead to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across our modular and door production lines. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring on-time delivery, consistent quality output, optimal utilization of machines and manpower, and a culture of continuous improvement and safety on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who can plan and execute production schedules, drive down rejections and rework, control cost per unit, and build a disciplined, collaborative, and safety-first production team.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

  • Plan, schedule, and execute daily/weekly production for the modular and door lines to meet delivery commitments.
  • Monitor throughput against plan and take corrective action to close gaps in real time.
  • Drive machine utilization and minimize downtime through proactive planning and coordination with maintenance.

Quality Control & Rework Reduction

  • Own shop-floor quality outcomes — reduce rejection rates and rework, and improve first-pass yield.
  • Work with the Quality team to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Cost & Efficiency Management

  • Manage production cost per unit and control variance against budget/targets.
  • Monitor and improve labor productivity across operators and shifts.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements across the production process.

ERP Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of production data into the ERP system.
  • Deliver daily/weekly production reports to management with full accuracy and on schedule.

Continuous Improvement & Safety

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement — sponsor and implement Kaizen and process-improvement initiatives on the floor.
  • Ensure a zero-major-incident safety record; enforce safety standards, PPE compliance, and safe work practices at all times.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, HR, and Design/Engineering teams to resolve issues and drive shared goals.
  • Lead joint problem-solving sessions and build a motivated, high-performing production team.

What We're Looking For

  • 8–12 years of experience in production/manufacturing management, with mandatory hands-on experience in ready-made door manufacturing and/or modular manufacturing (modular construction, joinery/door lines, or a closely related factory/industrial environment).
  • Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven track record of managing production lines, meeting delivery and quality targets, and controlling costs.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems for production reporting and data management.
  • Strong people-management skills with experience leading shop-floor teams, shifts, and cross-functional coordination.
  • A genuine commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement (Kaizen/lean practices).
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
