About the Client Organization (Confidential MNC Deployment):

The selected candidate will be deployed on a full-time secondment basis at the Indian corporate headquarters of a prestigious, globally multinational corporation.

o  Job Summary:

As the Manager – Direct Taxation, you will lead the core corporate tax function for the Indian entities of this global manufacturing giant. This role demands a high-Caliber tax professional capable of navigating complex domestic tax frameworks, managing cross-border remittance nuances, and aligning Indian tax data with sophisticated global multinational reporting standards.

o  Roles & Responsibilities:

·       Income Tax Compliance & Returns: Manage the end-to-end preparation, verification, and timely filing of Annual Income Tax Returns, ensuring complete accuracy and adherence to the Income Tax Act, 1961.

·       Tax Audit & Financial Reporting: Oversee the comprehensive Tax Audit process under Section 44AB. Lead corporate tax provisioning, Deferred Tax Assets/Liabilities (DTA/DTL) calculations, and Effective Tax Rate (ETR) analysis for quarterly and annual financial statements.

·       TDS & Withholding Tax: Supervise the end-to-end compliance and quarterly filing of TDS returns (Forms 24Q, 26Q, 27Q). Ensure flawless execution, timely certificate issuance, and compliance for payments to non-residents (Form 15CA/CB).

·       Litigation, Assessments & Representation: Draft technical and robust submissions for scrutiny assessments, rectification petitions, and appeals (CIT / ITAT). Confidently represent the company and liaise directly with Income Tax authorities.

·       Tax Advisory & Strategy: Provide strategic internal guidance on the tax implications of new business contracts, employee taxation, and cross-border remittances under Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAA).

o  Desired Candidate Profile:

· Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2–3 years of specialized experience in Direct Tax.

· Deep and thorough understanding of the Income Tax Act, 1961, domestic tax laws, and corporate tax provisioning.

· Prior experience handling tax portfolios for large-scale manufacturing, steel, infrastructure, or heavy industries is a distinct advantage.

· Candidates coming from Big 4 consulting firms or handling tax functions at large-scale MNCs are highly encouraged to apply.

· Sharp analytical skills with exceptional clarity of thought. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for liaising with corporate headquarters, global stakeholders, and tax authorities.

· Proven ability to manage strict regulatory deadlines independently, with a proactive mindset that embraces ownership and continuous professional growth.
