Founder's Associate — India Market Launch

Founder's Associate — India Market Launch

MiGreat Germany

Location: India-based (remote), founder in-country for part of the engagement

Duration: 2 months, full-time equivalent (freelance/project contract - can be extended)

Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience

MiGreat Germany is a Berlin-based startup helping skilled international talent navigate real pathways to build careers in Germany — cutting through confusing, scattered information with clear, personalized guidance, for the talent that wants to set themselves up for success in Germany from day one (and without an agent taking a cut). We've built and proven the model for emerging markets including Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria, and we're now expanding into India as part of our participation in a Berlin-based accelerator. You would be joining at the very beginning of that expansion.

You'll be working directly with MiGreat's founder and CEO, a Cambridge and Harvard-educated operator with 15 years in tech, including leading a German startup to a nine-figure exit at a previous scale-up. She is German herself, but with decades of work experience in emerging markets including Mexico, South Africa, Nigeria, and even Afghanistan. This is a founder who has done the \"figure it out from scratch\" work herself, more than once, and expects the same instinct from whoever joins her.

If you're doing this for the money, fame, or fortune, this isn't for you (there's very little of any of that in the founding journey). If you're doing this because you want to know what it actually takes to build something from zero, want to work internationally, and want to build credibility toward a potential international career move, this might be exactly right.

What you'll actually work on

Go-to-market for India: Help define how MiGreat's product and messaging need to change to genuinely work for an Indian audience — a true localization exercise, not a translation one.

Payment infrastructure: Research how a German startup can legally and practically accept payment from Indian customers (ideally via UPI) — including provider options and what's realistic at very small transaction volume.

Market and pathway research: Build deep understanding of what studying/working in Germany looks like specifically for Indian applicants — relevant deadlines, common pathways, and existing competitors already serving this audience.

General founder support: A wide range of \"figure it out\" tasks — whatever unblocks the market test fastest.

Who we're looking for — hard requirements

A degree from a top-tier Indian institution (IIT, IIM, ISB, BITS Pilani, Ashoka University, SRCC, or comparable)

1–2 years of experience at a recognized startup or consulting firm (or equivalent demonstrated rigor for exceptional recent graduates)

A genuine, demonstrable interest in entrepreneurship — not \"open to startups,\" but actively drawn to building

Based in India, available full-time equivalent for the 2-month period

And beyond the hard filters

Fast — you get things done in hours, not days, and you know when a task needs real rigor versus when \"good enough, quickly\" is the right call

Comfortable using AI tools as leverage, not as a substitute for your own judgment, and never as a subsidy for speaking to real customers

Independent — we'll set clear deliverables and dates; how you get there is your call

Reliable, to a fault — when you say you'll deliver X by date Y, you will

How this will run

Structured as a fixed-scope freelance/project contract, not employment

Daily async check-in — no fixed hours or location required, but expect intensity

Clear deliverables with target dates, reviewed and adjusted together as we learn

At the end of two months: an honest conversation about what comes next, for the India test and for this working relationship

To apply

Spend time understanding MiGreat () — the product, the market, who we serve. Then record a max 5-minute video of yourself talking through: who do you think is MiGreat's ICP in India? What are their biggest hopes & fears? What would you actually do to get MiGreat's first Indian customers? What are 5 quick things to change on the website? If you could pick only 2 channels to test for customer acquisition, which ones would they be and why? (Think startup: limited budget, trial and error, constantly learning and iterating along the way.)

No special effects, no editing, no slides required — just you, talking through your ideas. We're not evaluating production value; we're evaluating how you think. A polished video with generic ideas will score lower than a rough one with a sharp, specific point of view.

Senior Sales & Customer Success Specialist

This isn't just another remote sales job. It's an opportunity to build a long-term career with an Australian business and grow into a leadership role.

We're looking for someone who wants more than just closing sales.

This role has been created as part of our long-term leadership succession plan. Our goal is to develop the right person into one of the key leaders of our business over time. You'll be working directly with an Australian business owner—not through a call centre or outsourcing company.

You'll work closely with the business owner and our current Sales Lead to learn every part of the business. As you build your knowledge and confidence, you'll take on increasing responsibility with the goal of eventually leading our sales and customer experience function.

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely grow, take ownership and become one of the key people in a business, we'd like to hear from you.

About Us

We are an established Australian furniture retailer selling high-quality furniture across Australia.

Our customers don't usually buy on impulse. They ask questions, compare products and often need guidance before making a decision. Once they purchase, they expect excellent communication and support until everything is delivered and complete.

Our reputation has been built on trust, honest advice and looking after our customers—not pressure selling.

What You'll Be Doing during your first few months

You'll learn how the business works from end to end, including:

Product knowledge

Zoho CRM

Order processing

Supplier ordering

Delivery processes

After-sales support

Customer enquiries

Complaint and warranty handling

We do this intentionally because we believe the best sales leaders understand everything that happens after a customer says \"yes.\"

As your training progresses

You'll gradually take ownership of:

Responding to sales enquiries by phone, email and live chat

Helping customers choose the right furniture

Following up quotes and warm leads

Closing high-value furniture sales

Achieving monthly sales targets

Keeping customers updated throughout their order

Managing delivery enquiries

Resolving customer complaints and warranty issues

Working with suppliers and freight companies to solve problems

Improving our sales and customer service processes

Supporting and eventually helping lead our sales team

This Role Will Suit Someone Who

✔ Enjoys both sales and solving problems

✔ Is confident speaking with customers

✔ Stays calm under pressure and doesn't avoid difficult conversations

✔ Takes ownership and follows problems through until they're resolved

✔ Is organised and pays attention to detail

✔ Wants to understand how a business operates, not just how to make sales

✔ Is looking for a long-term career with increasing responsibility

✔ Comfortable making decisions without needing constant supervision

Experience

We're more interested in how you work than where you've worked.

Ideally you'll have experience in:

High-value or consultative sales

Following up leads and building customer relationships

Handling customer complaints professionally

Working with CRM systems

Furniture industry experience is a bonus, but not essential.

Working Hours

10:00am–4:00pm AEST (approximately 5:30am–11:30am IST during Australian winter and 4:30am–10:30am IST during daylight saving).

5 days per week (Weekend work is required on a roster)

Fully remote

Reliable internet connection required

Salary & Benefits

Starting hourly rate equivalent to USD $6–10/hour, depending on your experience, skills and the value you bring to the role.

As you develop, take on greater responsibility and progress into a leadership position, your hourly rate may increase to up to USD $15/hour, based on performance and demonstrated capability.

Regular salary reviews based on performance and increased responsibilities

Clear career progression into a leadership role

Recruitment Process

Screening questions

Skills assessment

Interview

Final interview

A Final Note

This isn't the right role for everyone.

We're not looking for someone who only wants to sell.

We're looking for someone who wants to understand the business, take ownership, solve problems, build strong customer relationships and eventually lead our sales and customer experience function.

We can teach you our products, systems and processes.

What we can't teach is ownership, confidence and the willingness to step up when things don't go to plan.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Reports To - ERAI Programme Director, Knowledge Networks

   Apply Via - LinkedIn |

About Knowledge Networks

Knowledge Networks is a global convening and education organization dedicated to equipping policymakers, media professionals, corporate leaders, and practitioners with the clarity, ethics, and insight needed to harness artificial intelligence responsibly and effectively. Our mission is to build platforms for dialogue and learning that ensure AI innovation is balanced with governance, foresight, and accountability.

Our flagship initiative, the ERAI Fellowship Program (Ethical & Responsible AI in Journalism), trains cohorts of journalists, storytellers, and media professionals from across the world to report on, investigate, and hold accountable the AI systems reshaping public life. The 2026 inaugural cohort — \"The Public Interface\" — brings together 17 exceptional fellows from across five continents, with Cohort 2 scaling to 100 fellows later in the year.

The Opportunity

As our Instructional Design Expert, you will serve as the critical bridge between Knowledge Networks' distinguished faculty and the ERAI fellows. Our programme draws on leading academics, AI practitioners, policy experts, and investigative journalists as instructors — individuals who are world-class in their domains but who may present content in formats that require structuring, sequencing, and pedagogical refinement to maximise fellow learning outcomes.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the heart of a programme that is setting the global standard for AI literacy in journalism. You will shape how knowledge is architected, delivered, and retained across an internationally diverse cohort — ensuring that every session, module, and resource reflects the rigour and quality that Knowledge Networks demands.

Key Responsibilities

Faculty Collaboration & Content Transformation

▪ Work directly with ERAI faculty to review, assess, and transform raw subject-matter content into structured, pedagogically sound learning materials

▪ Translate complex AI, ethics, regulatory, and media concepts into accessible, sequenced learning frameworks appropriate for practising journalists at varying levels of technical familiarity

▪ Conduct pre-session briefings with faculty to align on learning objectives, timing, and participant engagement strategies

▪ Provide structured, constructive feedback to faculty on content clarity, pacing, and delivery — always with sensitivity to the expertise and seniority of the instructors involved

Curriculum Architecture & Learning Design

▪ Design and maintain the ERAI curriculum framework — ensuring coherent sequencing, appropriate scaffolding, and measurable learning outcomes across all modules

▪ Develop instructional materials including session guides, fellow workbooks, case study frameworks, reflection prompts, and practicum briefs

▪ Apply adult learning principles and active learning methodologies to ensure high engagement and knowledge retention across a globally diverse, experienced cohort

▪ Design and implement formative and summative assessment instruments aligned to ERAI's certification standards

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

▪ Establish and maintain a systematic quality review process for all programme content — from pre-session materials through to post-session resources

▪ Gather, analyse, and act on fellow feedback to continuously improve the learning experience across the cohort lifecycle

▪ Identify and address gaps between faculty-provided content and fellow learning needs, proposing and implementing solutions in a timely and professional manner

▪ Document and maintain a living repository of instructional assets, templates, and standards for use across current and future ERAI cohorts

Programme Coordination & Communications

▪ Serve as a consistent, professional communication interface between the ERAI Programme Director, faculty, and fellows on all matters relating to content and learning design

▪ Prepare clear, well-structured content briefs, feedback reports, and curriculum status updates for Knowledge Networks leadership

▪ Coordinate content development timelines, ensuring all materials are reviewed, refined, and delivered ahead of programme schedules

▪ Support the onboarding of new faculty members with clear guidance on ERAI's pedagogical standards and content expectations

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

▪ 1–3 years of demonstrated experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or curriculum development — ideally within a professional education, fellowship, or executive training context

▪ Articulate 360

▪ Story onboarding

▪ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — able to engage credibly and diplomatically with senior academics, practitioners, and executives

▪ Proven ability to transform dense, complex content from subject-matter experts into clear, structured, and engaging learning experiences

▪ Strong working knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional systems design (ISD) frameworks (e.g. ADDIE, SAM), and active learning methodologies

▪ Experience designing both synchronous (live/virtual) and asynchronous (self-paced) learning programmes

▪ Comfort working across a global, multicultural environment with sensitivity to diverse learner backgrounds and professional contexts

Desirable

▪ Familiarity with AI, technology ethics, data literacy, or media/journalism — enabling meaningful engagement with ERAI's subject matter

▪ Experience designing learning programmes for journalism schools, media organisations, or policy institutes

▪ Proficiency with digital learning tools and platforms (e.g. Articulate, Canvas, Moodle, Google Workspace, Notion)

▪ A postgraduate qualification in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Learning & Development, or a related discipline

▪ Demonstrated experience working in a start-up, fellowship, or high-growth programme environment where adaptability and initiative are essential

What We Offer

  A Mission-Driven Platform

Work at the forefront of the global conversation on AI, press freedom, and democratic accountability — with a programme that genuinely matters.

Distinguished Faculty Network

Collaborate with world-class academics, AI governance practitioners, investigative journalists, and policy leaders at the cutting edge of the field.

   Global Reach & Impact

Contribute to a programme that trains journalists across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the MENA region — with Cohort 2 scaling to 100 fellows in 2026.

Flexible, Remote Engagement

Work remotely on a schedule that aligns with ERAI's cohort calendar — with autonomy to structure your workflow around programme milestones.
