Position: Associate Professor / Professor – Dept of Law

Location: Brainware University, Barasat, West Bengal
About the Role:
Brainware University invites applications from accomplished academicians and legal professionals for the position of Associate Professor / Professor in the School of Law. The ideal candidate should possess a strong academic background, a proven record of teaching, research, publications, and academic leadership in accordance with UGC/BCI norms.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Ph.D. in Law (Mandatory)
- LLM with an excellent academic record from a recognized university.
- Must fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by UGC and the Bar Council of India (BCI).
Experience:
1.Associate Professor
- Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience in a recognized university, college, or research institution.
- API Score must be above 80 for the last academic session.
- Demonstrated record of quality research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-CARE/Scopus-indexed journals.
- Experience in curriculum development, student mentoring, and academic administration will be preferred.
2.Professor
- Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience, including significant experience at the Associate Professor level.
- API Score must be above 120 for the last academic session.
- Atleast 1 PhD Awarded Scholar under your guidance.
- Strong research profile with high-quality publications, funded research projects, and academic leadership.
- Proven ability to guide doctoral scholars and contribute to institutional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputed journals.
- Guide student research projects, dissertations, and doctoral scholars.
- Develop and update course curriculum in line with UGC and BCI guidelines.
- Participate in accreditation, academic planning, and institutional development activities.
- Organize seminars, workshops, conferences, and legal awareness programs.
- Contribute to consultancy, legal aid initiatives, and interdisciplinary research.
- Undertake administrative and other academic responsibilities assigned by the University.
Desired Skills:
- Excellent communication and classroom delivery skills.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting abilities.
- Experience with outcome-based education (OBE) and accreditation processes.
- Ability to secure research grants and foster industry/legal collaborations.
- Leadership, mentoring, and team management capabilities.
