Shopify Visual Web Designer

We are looking for an experienced Shopify Visual Web Designer to create and implement high-quality, commercially effective online customer experiences across our international websites. 

The successful individual must understand Shopify architecture and be able to translate design, thinking directly into implemented themes, page templates, sections, collection experiences and customer journeys within Shopify. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design and implement visually strong, conversion-focused Shopify websites and landing pages. 
• Create, adapt and implement Shopify themes, templates, sections and page structures using Shopify Online Store 2.0. 
• Improve website presentation across homepages, product pages, collection pages, promotional landing pages, navigation and supporting content. 
• Ensure design work is responsive, commercially effective and consistent with brand positioning across all devices. 
• Work within Shopify architecture to deliver improvements directly, rather than supplying designs for others to interpret. 
• Collaborate with marketing, trading and development teams on seasonal campaigns, product launches, promotions and wider website development. 
• Support ongoing UX, CRO and customer journey improvements across multiple international websites. 
• Maintain consistency of visual standards, usability and customer experience across the group’s brands and markets. 

Essential Experience and Skills 

• Can speak fluent English 
• Significant experience designing and implementing websites directly within Shopify or ShopifyPlus. 
• Strong understanding of Shopify architecture, including themes, templates, sections, collections, product merchandising and navigation. 
• Proven ability to implement and customise Shopify themes, not simply design layouts or provide creative assets. 
• Strong visual, UX and responsive design capability with a clear commercial and e-commerce focus. 
• Working knowledge of Shopify Liquid, HTML and CSS, with sufficient technical confidence to implement design changes effectively. 
• Experience creating premium, brand-led digital customer journeys that also support conversion and trading performance. 

Mandatory Shopify Certification Requirement 

• Must hold current, relevant Shopify certification or officially recognised Shopify design/development credentials. 
• Must be able to provide documentary evidence of certification, including credential name, issuing body, date achieved and any verification reference or link. Certificates will be verified. 

Desirable Experience 

• Shopify Plus and Online Store 2.0 experience across multiple international websites. 
• Experience in premium home, furniture, outdoor living, interiors or lifestyle retail. 
• Experience supporting CRO, mobile-first design, accessibility, international customer journeys and seasonal e-commerce campaigns.
