About the Role
EzeRx is looking for two skilled, responsible, and detail-oriented Project Assistants / Laboratory Assistants for a clinical research and validation project based in Kolkata.
The selected candidates will support clinical validation studies, assist in testing diagnostic devices, help with sample handling, maintain clinical records, and coordinate with hospital teams and healthcare professionals. The role will involve working in laboratory and hospital environments and handling human biological samples with proper safety and documentation protocols.
This is a hands-on role suitable for candidates with laboratory training, clinical sample handling experience, and an interest in medical device validation and healthcare research.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, process, label, store, and manage human biological samples such as blood, serum, urine, and other clinical specimens as per defined protocols.
- Follow strict biosafety, hygiene, sample preservation, and waste disposal protocols while working in hospital and laboratory environments.
- Support clinical validation studies for EzeRx diagnostic devices by assisting in test execution, sample preparation, device operation, and result documentation.
- Assist in evaluating the accuracy, performance, sensitivity, and clinical usability of diagnostic devices under supervision.
- Support studies related to nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products by assisting with monitoring, documentation, and data collection as per project requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of samples, patient logs, test results, study observations, device readings, and other clinical data.
- Ensure proper documentation for study compliance, internal review, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors, hospital staff, laboratory teams, research coordinators, and internal project teams for smooth execution of daily study activities.
- Support field visits to partner hospitals and clinical sites for sample collection, testing, coordination, and project-related activities.
- Assist in preparing daily reports, sample tracking sheets, study logs, and basic data entry in MS Excel / Google Sheets.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient data, clinical records, and project-related information at all times.
Required Qualifications & ExperienceOption 1: DMLT Qualification
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized state medical faculty or recognized institution.
- Freshers may apply.
- Prior exposure to hospital or laboratory work will be preferred.
Option 2: B.Sc. Qualification
- B.Sc. in Biological Sciences such as Microbiology, Biotechnology, Zoology, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in handling human biological samples in a clinical laboratory, hospital, diagnostic center, or hospital-based research environment.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and clinical sample handling.
- Experience or training in phlebotomy, sample collection, sample preservation, sample labeling, and sample storage.
- Ability to operate basic laboratory equipment and follow standard operating procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Basic computer skills, especially MS Excel, Google Sheets, MS Word, and data entry.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with hospital staff, patients, and internal teams.
- Willingness to travel for field visits to partner hospitals and clinical sites as required.
- Ability to work responsibly with human biological samples and confidential clinical information.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in clinical trials, medical device validation, diagnostic testing, hospital research projects, or bio-banking.
- Basic understanding of Good Clinical Practice guidelines, clinical documentation, and research ethics.
- Experience working in hospital settings, diagnostic laboratories, or healthcare research environments.
- Familiarity with sample tracking, patient logs, study documentation, and basic clinical data management.
