Description:
The Pre-Primary Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, promoting their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. The role involves planning, organizing, and executing age-appropriate activities and lessons that encourage creativity, exploration, and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and Deliver Lessons: Create and implement lesson plans that focus on foundational skills such as language, literacy, numeracy, and basic science.
- Facilitate Activities: Organize activities that foster social skills, emotional well-being, and physical development, such as storytelling, music, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
- Child Assessment: Observe and assess the development and progress of each child, maintaining records and communicating with parents about their child’s growth and learning.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning, ensuring safety, order, and discipline.
- Promote Social and Emotional Development: Encourage children to work together, develop empathy, and express themselves in healthy and constructive ways.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with other teachers, staff, and administrators to coordinate activities and curriculum, and attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Parent Communication: Build and maintain effective communication with parents through regular updates, parent-teacher meetings, and feedback.
- Resource Management: Maintain classroom supplies, materials, and resources, ensuring a clean and organized learning environment.
- Follow School Policies: Adhere to school policies, procedures, and guidelines, maintaining professional behavior at all times.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior experience in teaching or working with young children is preferred.
