Job Description: Backend Developer / Linux DevOps EngineerJob Overview:We are looking for a developer with strong Linux (Ubuntu) and DevOps expertise to manage and support an existing backend system. The role involves handling server-level operations, deployments, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, along with backend development in Node.js.Key Responsibilities:Manage and maintain Ubuntu/Linux servers (setup, configuration, security, updates)Deploy and manage backend services using Node.jsMonitor and maintain Apache Kafka (setup, topic management, debugging)Handle PostgreSQL database performance, indexing, and query optimizationConfigure and manage services like Nginx / PM2 / systemdPerform log monitoring, debugging, and performance tuningWrite and maintain shell scripts for automation tasksHandle server resource management (CPU, memory, disk, processes)Manage code using Git and handle deployment workflowsTroubleshoot production issues and ensure system uptimeWork with cron jobs, background workers, and queue systemsRequired Skills:Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu/Linux administrationGood experience in Node.js backend developmentSolid understanding of Apache KafkaStrong knowledge of PostgreSQL (indexes, query optimization)Experience with process managers (PM2 / systemd)Knowledge of Nginx / reverse proxy setupProficiency in bash/shell scriptingExperience with GitPreferred Skills (Nice to Have):Experience with Docker / containerizationKnowledge of CI/CD pipelinesExperience with server security & hardeningFamiliarity with high-load systems / real-time data processingBasic understanding of cloud environmentsExperience Required:2–5 years (or strong practical experience)Work Type:Contract / Full-timeAdditional Notes:Strong focus on server-level debugging and performance optimizationCandidate should be comfortable handling live production servers independentlyProblem-solving and quick troubleshooting skills are critical
